You can use it with 2GB but it is not a very good experience, even with a just handful of Apps open.
It's WAY too early to judge Lion's memory consumption. In my experience, only the final GM build (unsurprisingly) has ever had even a remotely similar memory profile to the final product experience.

I suppose there could be a bit of news here for non-photographers.
As I understand it, Aperture uses OS X's built-in RAW image processing. If I remember rightly, the last Aperture update accompanied an OS X update. So it's possible 10.4.8 could be just around the corner (i.e. sometime this week?)

I've bought the first iPhone and have never gone back. I totally understand your situation lol, it comes with owning any luxury item. Usually its people who've never owned it themself that go bashing it. I personally haven't had as much encounters but I have friends who get harassed constantly lol.
The antennagate thing is the classic example of a non-user/owner reading some silly article and gripping it for every attack. None of my friends or myself use a case and we have absolutely no reception issues.
The funniest case was my friends colleague attacking him, saying it was the worse phone ever, most overpriced phone ever, its heavy! it has no flash! His Xperia X10 was miles better! Week later he buys his own iPhone 4 and stayed quiet about the topic. I rest my case.
On a positive note, I always get good encounters with the girls at work about iPhones lol.

I think lightroom is even slower?
esp when you do adjustment to photos like hue etc.
on my iMac, Aperture can render instantly, while lightroom obviously has pause. I know that's because aperture use graphic card, but why can't lightroom?

This is nonsence. If the average user was interested in just Apple, then why are Apple on a lesser market share for pretty much... everything but MP3 players? How come Android is proving more popular?
You mean all the junk Google flooded the market with in order to inflate their share because they *still* can't make anything even remotely on the level of the iPhone?
Licensing out your OS to anyone that can slam together a box and unloading product via the likes of ZTE and cheap Asian outfits (i.e., the "other" category) is hardly impressive. It's the Wintel way of dong business. Great for pumping up market share, but the profits go to the cream of the crop: Apple. For the rest it's a race to the bottom.

I'm seeing Apple discontinue server services. I'm seeing Apple making silly mistakes such as clock bugs and adding social networks to media players. I'm seeing Apple still not improve MobileMe.
You're seeing Apple hit new milestones and the competition keeping up the only way they know how: price and universal licensing. ZTE releases more Android junk and HTE releases their 20th variation of the same phone and it's crickets. Meanwhile there's so much as a hint of a new iPhone and the industry and market is just buzzing with excitement. The reason is simple: when it comes to Apple, consumer anticipation is in line with expectation.
As for the rest, Apple is following the same formula they always have. It's the ideal of engineering and design: simplify, simplify, simplify. Cut, cut, cut. Then perfect what's left over.
This is what results in record sales. With profits to match.

I will never buy an AMD computer again, especially in a laptop. AMDs are very hot processors and they require big fans(I learn that from my bro's Compaq), which make them thick and heavy.
It would be best for me if we could of kept PowerPC, developed a lower powerconsuming but stil powerful G5, or Xenon(chip in XBOX 360). But intel is still got...PPC for LIFE

Before my recent purchase of an iMac my whole family used AMD PC's, and I found that they performed pretty well at low-heat to. I had a AMD 64X2 4400+ and it ran idle at 30�C , it maxed out around 40� with stock heatsink.
While I'll admit Intel is ahead right now in tech. AMD does have "native" quad-core which should perform better than the Intel Quad-Core machines and on the lower-end AMD chips are in my opinion a great deal. They're also have some low-end chips which are going to be used in the OLPC so it could be used in some sub-notebook maybe?
But I don't think we'll see Apple add some AMD chips to their lineup for at least 6 months.

Treyarch seemed to make a decision to nerf the whole snipe/camp thing, making sniping more difficult, and camping a risky & questionable proposition. Running & gunning is the way Black Ops seems to go, if you want to camp, stack killstreaks, modern warfare is the way to go. The amount of times I have seen someone going XX kills & 0 deaths I can count on one hand, while in MW2 I had done it quite a few times.
I think Black Ops has become a nice alternative, and not just a continuation of modern warfare. It gives players choices.
The multiple games give you choices...but this game alone gives you no choice but to run and gun. If i wanted to Run and Gun and waste my life i'd go join the taliban and pray to Allah.
This game gives you very little choice and in that makes the game terrible.

No, smitty was correct. MS uses version numbers that identify it's code. It's how software devs can write code that decides whether the app should be allowed to install.
In a command prompt, use winver. Note the version listed
EG, Windows 95, NT 4, 98, and ME are all considered Windows 4.x. 2000 and XP are both 5.x, Vista and Windows 7 are 6.x. So it's clear 7 is nothing more than marketing.

My 3G is on its last legs, literally. I may succumb to the white iPhone 4 if this is what is in store for the next calendar year.
I have an iPhone 3G as well. It was on it's last leg until i downgraded to iOS 3.1.3, and it's a nice substitute until the iPhone 5. I don't know about you, but i think there will be significant enough features in the iPhone 5 to wait.

Retina Displays have exactly the double number of pixels with the same resolution, having a second resolution is a giant step to gain one of the crappiest features of Android. I really doubt Apple would do that.
What if this isn't a bigger screen but a smaller device with the same screen on it? Hmm..
How come people still keep picking up on this point, it surprises me, especially from a developer. A larger screen doesn't necessarily mean problems for apps, a change in resolution does. That, coupled with the previous rumors of a bigger screen with the same resolution mean that if this is true, it doesn't make any difference to developers because there will be the same number of pixels in the screen. All it means is that everything will be very slightly bigger.
