So after the fiasco of Katrina and the pending one of Rita, this has turned out to be a very bad year for storms - and, unfortunately, the season isn't over. With all the talk of global warming and stronger storms, what are people going to do if things like this happen *every* year?
I'd like to get the view points from people who live down south and have had to deal with these or other hurricanes in the past.

Ah, very cool, nice one arn! It will be cool to see this page grow as more products are leaked.
And perhaps if iHome is ever released, it will have to be moved from the fake pages to the not-so-fake pages. ;)

Put in the notebook? Don't think there are any options for that...think you'd be stuck with an external at this point. I'm not overly familiar with the current available products, but I recall seeing mention of them online recently, I think on TUAW. A search of the forums and/or Google should get you going. But it's probably not going to be your ideal of an integrated solution or a super portable option, unfortunately.
Thanx for the help man. Not what I wanted to hear but I appreciate the info.

I think this is because Jobs is all over the downloadable content thing. Apple WAS slated to have blu-ray support as much as a year ago, but he must be letting the whole thing go to the side hoping people will get their HD media via download only.
Bad move.
First of all - it takes up HD space that not everyone wants to use on movies. Second of all, some of still like to own the physical disk with the box/disk art. You can take the movie to a friends house, whatever - its not stored up on some hard drive. Optical media is not going away anytime soon.
Still leaning towards the Mac but all of a sudden the Vaio or Dell with blu-ray option looks a helluva lot more appealing than it did. And I really wanted to break from Windows.

Same problem with the cover on the 17" PBook, but a Swiss Army knife blade works very nicely wgen you haven't got the right driver.

Not rude at all, and thanks for the quick responses! MacRumors Forums are really helpful.
Thanks for the first reply, I checked the bootcamp format, which is indeed NTSF.
I was able to get the winclone image to restore finally (not mounting the image in winclone seems to fix that), but....
....now, when I try to restart in W7, I get a command screen saying that there are errors, which I tried to repair with the W7 installation disk to no avail. So, essentially, the restore seemed to work, but there is some type of issue with the image.
I also should mention that the clone was from another macBook that I'm trying to install in my new MacBook Pro (i7 quad).
I've attached the winclone log as a .txt file (it's rather long).
Anymore thoughts?

yeah i ran across that review when searching. it's only slightly faster though, and a little harder to overclock. but i bet it would be good at folding. i wonder if many people are using them?
I wonder if cuda would run on the 9400? graphics chip? that would help get some extra ppd. Too bad you can't change graphics boards in that monster iMac, it seems like it could use faster graphics for that large monitor.

Was just wondering if that means it is already featured-locked.
As it is just a Developer Preview (version 2), it is far too early to tell.

Okay !!
But do you think after 5 years of use it be more 15 GB the logs?
Well, to put that into perspective, the last time I purged my log files, they all together added up to about 3GB...and that was after about 6 months...

You want Outlook2Mac
http://www.littlemachines.com/
It works very well. PM me if you want to buy my copy since I no longer need it.
I second Little Machines, it literally took me about 10 minutes to transfer everything perfectly. All attachments, etc. It also kept the organization of my messages (by folder), which was important for me.
It also transfers contacts and tasks very well. One good thing it does for contacts is append the category to the note text. Then when you import into Apple Address Book, you can do a quick find on the category name, and create a group for them. I thought I was going to have to manually re-categorize, but Little Machines saved my life!!!

Hi all,
I invested in a D5000 about a year and a half ago to begin a new hobby. I was hoping to get opinions on if it would be worth it to try to make photography more than a hobby for me. I prefer nature, but would be willing to go for events maybe...I don't want to do portraits.
I've inserted some of my work from a photo camp below. Any advice/criticism would be greatly appreciated :-).

Thanks again!
I'm a sucker for a good sunset shot, and I like the first here quit a bit. The colors and textures in the sky give it a good feel. It's a pity the sun is on the centerline, though. I tends to capture the eye because it is the brightest area of the photo. If it was a little off center I might like it even more.
The photo of the Cheetahs has a lot of potential. I like where they are placed in the frame, and the direction of their heads is a nice contrast to the flow of their bodies. Kind of moves right then left with their vision. I would like the colors of the grass to be a bit deeper. The exposure is a bit light for the shadows and that lets the sunlit area in the background go too bright.
The other two are nice vacation pics, but they don't stir me visually.

I'm just curious if they're going to see that I started it well after when they ended it. I don't know how much information the reps have in-store or what all they do when they upgrade, so I was hoping someone who had done it once already could tell me if they had any trouble.
It doesn't matter what has happened to anyone, or what we may think will happen. That could all be different in 14 months. Do you really need that much planning ahead?
Besides, who cares if they know you "did the loophole". Bottom line is you had an OG iPhone and then had another. Who cares

Op,
You might want to take a look at Zoho Creator (http://www.zoho.com/creator/database-software.html) and see if it might meet your needs...

The iLock isn't the worst idea I've ever heard of, actually... proximity keys exist for cars, why not homes? There would be some obstacles to overcome, obviously, but it's not a terrible idea in principle...
iBox is my favourite spoof, I think. :D
And as long as we're posting spoofs... this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw2nkoGLhrE) deserves a nod. An oldie, but a goodie.

The size of neither HDD has any effect on the outcome, only the size of the actual backup. If you have a backup of 150GB, then it will take roughly 150GB on the 320GB HDD and the other 170GB will be there for you to use.

I have several Zip drives available.
A) 250MB SCSI
B) 250MB USB (non-USB powered)
To go with either, I have several 250MB disks and a bunch of 100MB disks. As with previous members, make an offer!

BB seldom has the latest and greatest in their stores until weeks after the introduction.
Hmm, well how can my local stores have them if it's only been 2 days since the launch?
Your best bet is to call around and find out for yourself. You might get lucky!

Would have been there, but.... Had to do the family thing and so far, the last OS is working fine for us. It's about a 2 hour drive for me to Penn, if it were Quail Springs, I might have made the trip.
I was in Penn last weekend just to pick up 2 things. Took about 30 minutes just to get someone to scan so I could pay. So many people in there just to play with stuff with no intentions on buying, and taking up employee's time, makes me mad.
I'm waiting to hear how good the new OS really is. Is it worth buying? I'm still running 2 G4's and don't know if the upgrade will really help me.
