How do you make your dock just a black strip like you did?
Running geektool. Most of the desktops you see are running it to display computer information, weather, music, etc.
I'm also using a black dock with the icons.

Apple products are too often kept at RRP - not sure if its always by agreements with apple - "don't discount more than 10% or lose authorised reseller status"
Obviously good for apple products, but not for the consumer.

I've got a 80GB HD from a PC I parted out. It's a Hitachi Deskstar, 7200rpm SATA drive. It's got a warranty on it until April of but I don't know if it's transferable.

"Aliens vs Predator Requiem" was edited on Final Cut. But that movie was terrible. Maybe it was Final Cut�s fault. ;)
But in all seriousness: I think a new Final Cut version is clearly overdue. FCS3 was more like a feature-patch for FCS2 than a new version. These days not having any kind of native AVCHD support really slows you down (and uses up a lot of storage space) particularly considering the DSLR-hype since 2009!
I remember a friend of mine who had bought a Panasonic HMC 150 (which is a professional camera) before FCS3 was released and was expecting native AVCHD in the next release. He has been waiting for this feature for almost two years now, while all the other big editing systems have had it for a while, as far as I know!
I'm into the casual AVCHD use like most consumers, and while my opinion doesn't count the same as most of the heavy editors commenting, Steve Jobs does tend to have a liking for "the river coming to us" as the best use of resources.
In that regard, and with Intel popping Sandy Bridge on the CES stage in January, AVC will get some much needed silicon on chip for encode/decode; the only codec to get that treatment. I doubt that this is anything but conincidence, as OpenCL / Grand Central are much more necessary for FCP's overhaul, but it strikes me that any Sandy Bridge processor in any Mac will by definition ease the AVCHD issues in all of Apple's video applications. Since AVCHD is in the core, one can imagine imagine that future Xeon processors should be quite suitable for AVCHD editing (it's my understanding that the AVCHD standard supports division of the frame into 4 chunks for multithreading).
I hope that this thread is still alive when FCP arrives and that further, there are commenters with with hands on use of the Panasonic AG-AF100 and Sony NEX video cameras supporting AVCHD and dslr lenses.

God I hate Notes- it's an operating system on top of an operating system. It's databases are just a step up from Access and to be honest - it's a pig.
I've been forced to use the piece a crap for over 5 years (I'm a consultant) and it had brought me great pleasure to help large scale enterprises move away from this overstuffed piece of crap.
Is Exchange any better - yes and no - in general they both are crappy. The biggest advantage of Notes is that their CALs (licenses) are so cheep compared to Exchange/Outlook.
When I start looking for a new job - the first question I'll ask is which Universal Messaging Platform have you deployed in your Enterprise? If they answer "Notes" I'll know the following about their organziation:
1. They care more about the dollar than about usability and employee satisfaction
2. The VP of IT is probably sleeping with the IBM rep
3. The business only uses it because they don't know any better (they've been there too long and have never used anything other than Notes and AOL).
4. They think that Notes databases are cool and hip and truly believe Access is an enterprise level database
5. And finally, they are so damn stupid they probably have Lotus 123 and Word Perfect as their "Office Suite"

Looks great, but as my main email account is not a .mac account and POP doesn't really do it for me, I'll only use it if they provide IMAP access.
The only real reason that I use .mac are its backup and synchronization features which are hardly worth paying $99 a year for. .mac still needs to come a long way to stay competitive and this is reasonable start, but a new interface is only that - a new interface. More space, more features and better functionality are the only way .mac will come out of the dark ages and join the rest of Apple's innovative, first-class products.

There seems to be a lot of confusion between morality and reality in this thread. Let me give a real life experience as example and comparison.
This past week my children's DVD players were stolen from our vehicle. You know, the kind that attach to the back of the head rest in the automobile. We bought them for long trips, but recently my wife put them in for an extended day of driving with the kids. We had a conversation in which I told her, "honey, we need to take those out of the car now because they can clearly be seen through the windows and that could be all the 'invitation' needed for someone to take them". According to data on your first chart I'd say that corporate income tax revenues need to increase dramatically. Corporate income taxes only represent 9%(191 billion) of revenue yet individual income tax represents 41% (899 billion). Combine that with all the bailouts the government handed out to the banks and some corporations and I'm guessing the net rate might be close to 0%.
I'm not saying individual taxpayers won't have to sacrifice in order to solve the problem, but I'm not sure why there are those that argue that no matter how many tax breaks corporations get or even government bailouts---that's its always the individual who has to pay.
It's a policy based on greed straight from the richest people and companies in this country.

Social Security is fully funded to 2037, will run a surplus at that point and is separate from the budget. The ACA is fully designed to lower health care costs and lower the deficit, something which the right consistently ignores.
If the US were screwed, you wouldn't have countries queuing up to lend you money. Stop cutting taxes on the wealthy and pursuing unfunded wars for a start.
The biggest problem I see with SS is that it's an unsustainable Ponzi Scheme which requires constant growth in population in order to sustain costs incurred by smaller and smaller groups of people.

I don't see your point other than trying to embarrass another user of this forum. Unless Apple is planning on integrating more social aspects into Maps, I don't see why they need to spend resources on this. And given Apple's history with trying to create social products, I don't have much faith in them doing just that. If Apple thinks they can do it better, all the more power to them. But if they are just creating their own Maps because they don't like Google, then I don't see how the users benefit.

Do people really get excited about this? I've never owned an iPhone, as I'm loyal to Verizon and at this point am waiting for the iP5, but I think black looks farrrrrrrrr better than the white model.

I know this is late, but I just bought season 2 of chuck and pleasantly surprised to find it in HD, and the file size seems to be the same as the SD format of season 1.

I'm not complaining. On more than one occasion they forced the competition to offer more for less in order to compete and that's a great thing from a consumer perspective.
I don't know why they drop the software after a while though, discontinuing Shake didn't make any sense.
I think once Apple saw just how deep down the post production rabbit hole they'd have to go to meaningfully support and develop Shake they decided it would be too much effort for too little return so bye-bye Shake. It was too much of a niche w/in a niche for Apple, IMO.

Valet happens to be one of the few departments I oversee at the resort I work at... ive driven a few that have come through here and must say, certainly one of the top 3 cars ive ever driven.
the others in the list of top cars, are easily 3-4 times the price of the GTR
