Hello,
I got this error last night and I'm still scratching my head about it.
Build Ukulele of project Ukulele with configuration Debug
Ld build/Ukulele.build/Debug-iphoneos/Ukulele.build/Objects-normal/armv6/Ukulele normal armv6
cd /Users/nickculbertson/Documents/GuitarApp
setenv IPHONEOS_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET 4.2
setenv PATH "/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin:/Developer/usr/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin"
/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.2 -arch armv6 -isysroot /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS4.2.sdk -L/Users/nickculbertson/Documents/GuitarApp/build/Debug-iphoneos -F/Users/nickculbertson/Documents/GuitarApp/build/Debug-iphoneos -filelist /Users/nickculbertson/Documents/GuitarApp/build/Ukulele.build/Debug-iphoneos/Ukulele.build/Objects-normal/armv6/Ukulele.LinkFileList -dead_strip -miphoneos-version-min=4.2 -framework Foundation -framework UIKit -framework CoreGraphics -framework QuartzCore -framework AudioToolbox -framework AVFoundation -framework MediaPlayer -framework MessageUI -o /Users/nickculbertson/Documents/GuitarApp/build/Ukulele.build/Debug-iphoneos/Ukulele.build/Objects-normal/armv6/Ukulele
ld: ldr 12-bit displacement out of range (4096 max +/-4096) in _AudioServicesCreateSystemSoundID$stub in _AudioServicesCreateSystemSoundID$stub from /Users/nickculbertson/Documents/GuitarApp/build/Ukulele.build/Debug-iphoneos/Ukulele.build/Objects-normal/armv6/Ukulele
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
Command /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.2 failed with exit code 1
The project runs fine on both iPad and iPhone builds in the simulator and the iPad build works on the device. When I run the iPhone build on the device I get the error. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Nick

So buy a capacitive stylus already and quit whining about "finger painting".
Stylus-focused tablets failed in no small part because of the easily-lost one-more-thing-to-fiddle-with can't-function-without-it stylus requirement. So, Apple built a tablet that didn't need it. Insofar as a few people do need a stylus for limited applications, third parties make them. Buy one if you need it; nobody is stopping you but you.
Yeah except Photoshop is for people like me so it is relevant. Also work on your anger management classes.

Let me say this first, I hate Kobe Bryant. However, he can say whatever he wants. I have nothing against gays but who cares what he said. Yes it was on national TV so that does create a little problem but I think the thing is just blown up too big. He can say and think whatever he wants. I hate him though.

After all, we get Leopard 8 hours before those saps in Cupertino. We just pay a little more for it. Any ideas?

It'd be more appropriate to say he's letting the book do the talking for him.
Either way, linking some overused passage lends absolutely nothing to this discussion or any like it. So what's the point of reviving the thread with it? All it does is show that this person can't speak for himself (or herself).

You don't believe me? He sent that to my eBay and now the auction is cancelled like he just said he was going to do. Sucks but I dont think that other guy is going to get his money back. Not like we are going to find out either.
Oh I believe you now, but you didn't say he messaged you through ebay beforeI thought you meant he pm'd you here.

I just bought a new iPod Touch 4g (YEEE!!!!), and I would like to jailbreak it. It wasn't even plugged in yet. How can I restore it to 4.2 or 4.1 right off the bat? Turn off wifi and delete the other .ipsw's? Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Now if this guy is not leaving to retire. Then RIP Apple. Seriously, if Apple thinks I want my computer to resemble an overgrown iPad then they can loose my money and I'll be buying an Alienware.
Microsoft seem to be the only ones that still get computers? Apple has done brilliantly as well but I really do worry that they have an itch to dumb them down to ridiculous levels!!
Then again...... perhaps the man is leaving because he just is not comfortable with the talk from other employee's about where they want to take Apple after Mr Jobs leaves which is no doubt going to be very soon. I have a feeling they want to go in an entirely new direction..
IMO you don't leave a massively successful company after 22 years without a reason unless your retiring.

What's with all the names changes?
iTools -> .Mac -> MobileMe -> iCloud
It's not the name that's hindering Apple's online efforts, it's the pricing, features and reliability.
Bingo.
Apple will come to its senses and launch this as a free service. If not in this iteration, perhaps the next. :)

Nope, not too squeamish just going by the thread title. It's torture, there you happy?
No, I'm not, because I want it to stop. But at least you are speaking in plain english now.
Again, we are not europe. So europe doesn't torture and where has that gotten them? They still get attacked by terrorists, even sweden, go figure. Moral superiority or not, safety of our nation and other western nations is more important. If torture is needed to get that information and save thousands of lives, then we should do it.
This has nothing to do with Europe vs the US. Europe doesn't have any bearing on whether Americans feel torture is an acceptable activity. I don't think we need to torture people in order to combat terrorism. Torture is wrong, it damages our credibility and brutalizes us as a society. I want no part in it, and bin Laden's carcass is a very poor reward for the hundreds of thousands of people who have died during this quest to find him. After 9/11, the US received genuine sympathy from all over the world. We've squandered that goodwill and then some over the last decade.
Someone has to do the dirty work, and it's always us. But that's ok, that's how it's always been and it's why we're such a proud nation.
American exceptionalism at its worst. As long as you think you're better than everyone else, you'll be blind to reality and it will cost us in the end.

It's not clear to me *why* it goes on sale at 5 PM, it's just clear that's how it's going to happen. I expect Apple store employees to direct iPad 2 buyers to a line which will start getting serviced at 5.

There's been reports of battery issues to. I haven't tested it myself, but it seems like I'm getting less battery life since 4.3.1, which is what many others have been saying. I don't know how widespread this isssue is, though.
It seems to be very widespread. Everyone I know that's installed it has the issue.
