I think it might be CT issue. There is an ongoing immigration fraud investigation against state employees so now they are over doing enforcement.
I had problem when I wanted to register my Car in New Jersey. I had moved to New Jersey from MA, so I had MA license at that time and was staying temorarily at my cousin's place. When I went to one DMV they told me that you need to have NJ driver's license to register my car. I told them the situation and that I was going to get NJ license once I get my place, but they just didn't register my car. I went twice at that place and got same answer.
Then I went to different DMV and the guy understood my situation and gave me a temporary NJ driver license number (NOT driver license) and registered my car. TOld me to give this number when I come to get NJ license and everything worked fine.
Its just some poeple don't want to know about some this or just want to create problems.

Congrats and thank you for your contributions. Do visit IV to continue your support and offer answers to members. We want more GC members so that in the coming future we can launch an effort on items that help in citizenship. For example, time for citizenship be counted from the date of I140 approval. There can be others if we have more GC members and we all brainstorm on ideas.

I don't think it is not a issue as my friend's father also a retired Navy personel with the INdian Navy had no issues. All he had to so is show that he is a retired personnel and may have to show proof that he is just coming to visit and not to stay back.

I am in the same boat and need to get my address updated. So what I understand from above posts is that there is no need to do paper based AR11 and can just do it online for I-485, EAD as well as AP, right?? Once done, just keep printouts for records , thats it???

I was informed that without I-94 card she cannot be added to my insrurance.

I have never seen anyone asking for an I-94 card to get your wife added to your insurance.If you are an employee going through employers insurance then they have to add you and your family to the insurance coverage without any discrimination . That is as far as I know . Maybe I could be wrong but I am pretty sure about it. You can take her insurance without she being here . I recently changed my coverage this month for myself and my family and its start date was the same day I submitted the forms and not the 1st of next month or something like that.

From the data, it seems you are right. But it is pretty confusing. If your logic is correct then once the July 2007 backlog is cleared, will they say 0 demand and then make all dates current again ??
The "demand" ideally should mean people whose 140 has been cleared and waiting to file 485 + those whose 485 has been filed and not yet processed.

Hello Everyone;
I recently posted a thread on our buying house expereince, while that was chapter in itself, there is another one that has recently opened up. Allow me to elaborate;
When you buy a house ( as most know) lender sets up an arrangment with Title company. You actually pay for the expenses and title company carries out the work. So as part of the paper work, this title company was assigned to put together, they sent me a copy of the whole deal for my records. Now, the person who was handling the package at title company, sent it to the address on my driver license. Happens to be that right next day from the date of closing, I left this place an moved into my house. So when the package arrived via Fedex, their was no-one their to claim, so the Fedex guy left it on the door step. After more than a week, the title company contacted me via phone asking about why I haven't signed up those documents and sent back. Surprised I asked about when they sent and to what place? that's when we discovered that the package was delievered to wrong place. So I asked them to ask Fedex to go fetch the package and send it to my new address. So now Fedex reported, that the package is gone! ... I contacted apartment office and no-one turned in such package. I called back the title company and informed them about all this and complained about loss of personal information. I asked them to pay for identity protection program, which they have refused.
So my question is what legal course do I have to ensure they pay for my ID protection. I am really furstrated with the way these people do work. Instead of accepting negligence they are refuting my greivance. I have never hired a lawyer nor has taken anyone to court, but feel cheated.
I understand your frustration, however, legally you do not have a case against the Closing Company. If they had sent it to a completely different address, it was another story. Since your driver's license showed your old address, the court will not find them at fault. Check your contract to see if there is any provision that states the mailing method of such important documents. Usually it should require signature upon delivery if not return receipt, but if nothing is mentioned in the contract, unfortunately you do not have a case.

ofcourse you can renew your H1B using your pending I485 and you should get 3 years extension. There should not be any problem.
I don't think your revoked I140 will pose any problems as your MTR is accepted.

Means if we ask for AC21 then they ask for this kind of details? Also What is the Probability they ask for these details. Now I have 2 more questions:
1. if you are on H1 extension then you get new LCA at the time of H1 extension. If your current location and job are same as specified in the h1 extension LCA. (If you were working at wrong location at the time of first H1 but during the H1B extension you are working at the location specified in the LCA. Now how much is the possibility that they ask for the details for LCA Of the first H1B. Or tey look into only latest LCA).
2. One more question: If your LCA shows the city name LA but you are actually not specific in LA city but you are in LA county then is that location considered to be correct OR this is still violation?

what is mandatory?.....what happens if a person has to move 6 months after they file I-485.....aint they going to change their address??.....can we use AR-11 to do that?....there is no way I can wait for 4 years at my current place to get my green card in hand.....would appreciate any suggestions
It's against the law not to provide CIS your new address within 10 days (?) of your move. FYI, it is mandatory even after you get GC...

If you can you should move up to EB2.
Even if it is file your spouse's I-485, what moving up means is you both can be free out of this mess.
There is no guarantee with PD dates for EB3-India moving to Dec 2001. It has not touched that date ever since retrogression was introduced. Go figure. BTW, USCIS still thinks there are thousands and thousands of apps filed before Dec 2001.

The PD for my GC application is Dec 10, 2001. I filed under EB3 category and my chargeability is India. Going by the backlog that we are currently experiencing for EB3, is it worth filing for an upgrade of the GC application from EB3 to EB2 based purely on timelines for both EB3 and EB2?

I know of one who transferred Aug 03 EB 2 to their recent application Eb2 in 2007. I think therre may be a scattered few...otherwise we could consider all before oct 03 closed....
