I'm fairly certain AirPlay is actually a standard that Apple has licensed from another company which is why there were already a few receivers on the market that supported or could be updated to support AirPlay.
You must confusing it with something else. AirPlay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AirPlay) is Apple's updated version of AirTunes which has been around for years.

I just got the 32GB wi-fi only version for $399 but now I regret it, I wish I would have purchased the 16GB 3G version from AT&T for $429. I think connectivity is more important....oh well, I can live with it!

I agree with fcortese: I really like the picture, but would love it if there was more space to the right, where the horse is looking. Could you crop the left and top a bit? I think that would make it more powerful. IMHO, Rule of Thirds would turn this good shot into a great shot.

I'm still trying to decide if I love it or hate it! It's beautiful, yet ugly ... all at once. I definitely see all 4 elements -- another nice contrast. I think it would have done well in the surreal contest we just had.

Yep, works great. Tip, if you want to copy the color (as the hex value), hit Command-Shift-C. Just tried it with the red in the MacRumors logo above, returned #AA1416. Very simple.

3.33 ghz i7 6-core is better than a 2.4 ghz 8-core Mac Pro for Logic imo. You want each core to be fast too so none will hit their ceiling.

i like this idea about the home button, but i would hate to accidentally touch it. maybe u would have to hold it down or something because that is a fatal flaw. i like the idea of it being able to illuminate for messages that would be enough for me to disregard the "fatal flaw".

will this be available in coach or is this just a first class option?
It may be in all classes if it's on seat-back displays. First class usually gets better displays than that, as the seat is usually quite a distance in front of the people in 1st class. :o
And besides, what good is a service like this when the large majority of travellers will never see this?

If Verizon was not CDMA I think we would of seen a Verizon iPhone. I just don't think Apple really wants to mess with two different models of the phone.

I really hope T-Mobile isn't chosen...I had them for a year and a half and what horrible customer service. Not to mention that their coverage in Palm Springs, CA is horrible. Apple should go with Verizon, I did go with AT&T myself, but Verizon is rated highest of all the carriers for customer satisfaction and coverage.
I wish that more companies will sell the iphone in the US so at&t will not act as a monopoly DO YOU RIMMBER some 20 years ago at&t was broken out by the goverment because of monopoly lows? I thing its time to do it again

Are you people seriously applauding this? What a waste of our tax dollars!! I do contracts with the Navy every single day and I know that the technology that they have will not be benefited by the use of iPad/iPod/iPhone. The military does not offer wi-fi to their staff on base. Everything is hard wired and the conduit is sealed with a tamper proof silicon. The Government is very very particular about their SIPRnet (as they call it). Without wi-fi, what use is the iPad for the military other than to give them a little treat and waste our tax dollars? They already have mobile equipment in the vehicles that is far superior to Apple's products.

I think without hearing more details of what they want to do with this stuff (which we won't) then we can't really make any judgement calls. As for the durability claims, well that is a load of..you know what. The Army does in fact use Mac OS X based systems for many of their servers and even some desktops. The vast majority is still Windows, but the Macs are out there in the wild.

Now for the past month these same analysts were predicting that Verizon was the next carrier.
I guess now everyone will be getting on the T-Mobile band wagon, until the rumor fades away, just like the Verizon rumor.
