Ok thanks! I've never rented before, I thought the privacy policy had some merit to it... you don't want curious people running around your tenant's home all the time. But obviously it's not so.

My mouse (Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2.0) show far less mouse acceleration in Lion compared to Snow Lion.
I haven't read anything about this so I guess it's something on my end? Or does other people get similar behavior in Lion?

This is simply not accurate I'm afraid.
The 27" ACD works absolutely fine with the Apple OEM 5770 upgrade card with MDP, also with the 5870. After all, why would Apple sell these graphic cards if they didn't work with their only display? Further, my 5870 and 27" ACD get along like a house on fire. Note that you have to buy the Apple cards, not just a standard PC card like you seem to be implying
The first generation of ATI 5-series cards for PC didn't actually didn't follow the DisplayPort port specifications properly, and do have compatability issues with Apple products. That being said, your absolutely right peskaa, the issues were fixed with Apple OEM cards (but ppl who want to throw in any PC card just beware the 5- series cards are hit and miss on compatibility).

Here are a few things:
1.) Check you color sync profile.
2.) Load in a blank white picture and move it around the screen.
Are there really hot spots.
3.) Load in or create a b/w test 4 square test pattern. Do the same.
4.) Try these resolution test patterns.
SMPTE and BWH test patterns to download. (http://brighamrad.harvard.edu/research/topics/vispercep/tutorial.html)
5.) Are you a smoker, or is the screen in direct sunlight for a time?
Spotty yellowing may occur behind an in front of the screen from smoke and nicotine. Sunlight may damage a screen with UV.
If you find "hot spots" and have AppleCare, give Apple a call.
6.) If your dog does pee on the screen, it should just drip off. If it doesn�t, you dog may be diabetic. Glucose in the urine will cause it to stick.

It's a launch party for goodness sake. Do people NEED to buy something to visit and get a free shirt? It's all about the fun. I already ordered my copy of Leopard but it hasn't delivered yet so I went to the launch event to go check out Leopard in person and I'm glad I did. It was so much fun, it's was like being at a party. There were plenty and I mean plenty of shirts so I hung out for 3 hours and picked up my shirt on the way out. Will go to the next launch party whether buying or not. :D

So your iPhoto library will have to be on the platter drive.
Same people who talk about their "tons of Aperture work with RAW files" -- well those files wont be fitting on a 256 gig SSD.

What is your budget? What do you expect to do with the camera? What lighting conditions? Will you be recording audio using the camera or an external device? What mics do you have/plan to get? How will it be supported? What do you plan to edit with? What is your final output?
Budget - I would like to keep it under $800
Lighting conditions - should be very good as I will normally be shooting in daylight and clear weather.
Mics - I don't have any but will get whatever is required. I was going to add most of the audio after the fact for clarity's sake.

Output - This will be video content for my website.
Basically...I am a contractor that wants to post of some video of completed jobs with some audio about what we do and why.
