Good thing you reminded me about the mall opening time, I was thinking we would be able to line up outside but since my local Apple Store is in a mall we will only be able to start lining up once the mall opens, right?

Apple's own Software Update and QuickTime's own Update function fail to detect this new version. Therefore you have to manually download it from www.apple.com/quicktime.

I want to buy off ebay because I have ebay bucks and would like to avoid paying 3x the price at Apple.

If his phone is being synced over-the-air with Exchange, then make sure that "Sync Address Book Contacts" is unchecked in iTunes.

I can't figure this one out. I successfully jailbroke my 1st gen iPad after using pwnage tool and tetheredboot.
However when I open cydia and do the required updates it asks me to reboot, so I do so but it keeps on going through a boot loop.
I then put it in DFU and do the tetheredboot command in terminal but it fails every time saying:

Is snowbreeze more reliable then the method I'm using? If so I may have to boot in bootcamp and try.
I'm not a Mac user but I believe your issue is with libusb If you google on this you'll see it is a common error, I believe you'll also find info on how to correct the issue...

No, I guess not. I could probably do copy and paste. I was trying to use the screen shot feature instead to see how it works.
When you took the screenshot, the shot screen loads in a new Preview window. Press CMD+A, then CMD+C to copy it.

Continue using your iPhone until the thing shuts off by itself. Then plug it in and let it charge back up completely. If after this you're still having issues with your battery, shut off your bluetooth, push email, etc and see if that helps. Still having issues with your battery, then take it to the Apple store and see if they can help, or get you a replacement iPhone.

I am used to the Mac OS (and my G4 is dieing). I'm leaning towards the iMac because I mostly have Mac software and it contains ALL of my music and photo's. However given the specs the Samsung looks tempting:confused:

It's still beats the pants off anything windows...we're just used to everything working so well it's easy to critique.
That's really my point. Apple has set the bar high for itself. If I bought a Windows CE phone, I'd expect to have problems. But few Apple products in the last decade have had so many highly publicized issues as iPhone 4. Notice there isn't much press about iPhone 3GS issues or iPad issues or Mac Mini issues. Apple usually produces produces with great usability and high reliability. Maybe I've just gotten spoiled over the years....

This does look like iOS4 is turning into Apple's Vista. I've begun noticing odd quirks with my iPhone 4. Frequently, the screen refuses to shift into landscape or portrait mode when I turn it. The only thing that seems to fix the problem is a re-boot of the phone. Reception is still wonky. In the exact same location it will shift from 5 bars of 3G to 1 bar of EDGE, then 1 bar of 3G and then to 3 bars of EDGE. I've had several bizarre syncing problems when either iTunes or iPhoto reported simply, "An error has occurred."
When it works, it's great. But it certainly has been more finicky than my old 3G, which was rock-solid.

I think im just going to borrow a snow leopard disk from a friend and install it that way. Just curious though, when I had my own copy in my disk drive my windows pc wouldnt recognize it, how am I supposed to install boot camp off it?
Was it an original disk or a burned copy? As per the thread I linked the drivers are in their own session on the disc and if you don't explicitly copy it you ain't got it.
