I wrote a guide on my blog about how to get out of a cellphone contract when the iPhone is released. Enjoy (if you care to):

I was wondering if that was an iPad on the table too. Only other thing I think it could be was the bill, but for just coffee? Probably was an iPad!

I expect that 10.4.8 will be required for Aperture 1.5 (as OS updates are normally required to add RAW support for new cameras). A post on another forum (arstechnicas iirc) by someone who was at Photokina and had talked to someone from Apple said that Aperture 1.5 was scheduled to be available for download at the end of the show (October 1st)...
Aperture 1.5 lists 10.4.7 as the minimum requirement

I hope it fixes the USB connection to Canon cameras. They broke it with 10.4.7. I'm still booting from my portable backup drive when shooting tethered (looks really pro on location).
I dread the going-backwards-sytem-reinstall BS tho, so that's what I have been doing.

i doubt apple with update the MB soon, there just wouldnt be enough distinguishing the MB from the MBP if they both got C2D at the same time, mostl ikely it will be like the mini, it will get a small speed bump.

Well, bear in mind they were sued (successfully, the first time around) for using that! ;)
I can only assume you're referring to Apple Music, the Beatles' publishing company. In which case, the irony here is quite hilarious.
You seem to know precious little about US trademark law. To sum Apple's intentions here: protection of their iPod trademark is their objective. I think we can all agree that no one is trying to trademark just the word "pod".
But if someone else creates a product in the arena of digital music, and the name of their product intends to capitalize on the popularity of the term "iPod", then if Apple doesn't actively protect their trademark, they run the risk of losing rights to the trademark entirely, so that in fact, not only would someone in the future be allowed to sell under a "mypodder" or similar name, they could actually create ipod clones and sell them under the name iPod!
Of course, it'd never get that far, since you'd have to have legal department of morons to allow that to happen.

First of all, it isn't $99 unless you insist on paying full price.
Secondly, it is worth every cent. So much more than email, and fantastic for those who own more than one Mac.
Absolutely true.
I worked for a retail store that sold Apples. The Apple dealer wanted to sell .mac so badly (for sales goal reasons, I'm sure) that it was often bundled into the price of the computer.*
ps. don't tell apple! ;)

Earlier this week I received an email with 2 keys, and will gladly give one away.
I used one for myself and I'm JJJ.fff on Battle.net.
Here's how to get my second key:
Follow me on Twitter (@JustinFreid), and @reply me with why you should get it. I'll give my extra key to the person who convinces me he or she most deserves it.
There are 3 stipulations:

In the UK where customers of the like of O2 (me) have more chance of getting a w##k off the Pope than a decent data signal without resorting to standing up a ladder and waving their phone in the air, this is a definate no win app.
Depends. If you're a little choir boy then you might arouse the Pope's interest.

It's sad though, many people still hate macs. People who have not used one since the old OS 8 / OS 9 days. The 'only one-mouse button / expensive / can't run any programs' image still tarnishes apple. It might take another couple of years for that to wear off from people. At least.

Based on some of the posts in this one forum, it seems that most are coming from loud mouth teens who know nothing, or just want to say something for the hell of it. Geez!
its a thursday afternoon. Shouldnt the intelligent people be... working?
im a bored college student, not immature kid. A little smartass humor does not hurt in my opinion. Unnecessary one word posts are annoying though.

I was not sure where to post this, I have emailed MacRumors several times, but with no reply.
I can pull up the main page of wap.macrumours.com but when clicking next page I get a response unknown error with my Nokia 3200.
This also happened on my old 7210 phone too.
This would indicate non complaint wml code on the 2nd page, as this is the error Nokia's tend to give (they do not attempt to display non complaint code)
Thanks
Neil
works for me, on some nokia, i don't know what kind, but it's like tan-ish and has a color screen.

Retina Display
backlit keyboard Option (so everyone who wants to have it can have it)
bigger SSD drives
faster/newer processor
upgradable Ram
Now that is something to lol at :p
Not if you have this
Ignoring current situations and if I could have it any way I want:
Macbook Air 11.6''
- Intel I5 ULV, 6mb FSB
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M
- SD Card Slot
- Thunderbolt Port in ADDITION to 2 USB ports.
- Get rid of the bezel around the screen and either make the screen slightly larger or make it black edge similar to MBP.
I would just settle for the i5 and Nvidia chip. As for the collapsable ethernet port... moving parts? ew.

Awesome, I love it! I want to sign up for .Mac so bad, but I can't justify it being worth $99 per year. I would gladly pay $49 per year, especially since I would use iWeb, Photocasting, and all the other good stuff.
Took me 3 weeks but I got it for $41 on fleabay.

ipad is obviously the best tablet on the market, it's like reporting water is wet. I don't think iphone4 is the best phone on the market though, I've tried many of the latest and greatest including the ip4 and they're all equally great in their own ways.

Kinda wonder if this "PI" is even real...
Since the story broke, the guy's website has been posted across every tech news site around.
Fact of the matter is that I am sure that this situation has netted him a few more sales.

I'm sure it has too. But you just KNOW it won't go on. Apple people read all those tech sites too and know all about it now!
