HI
I am in a very peculiar situation. I have been exploited twice by my previous employers who applied for my green card but ddid not let me know what the situatuion is. here is my situation
company A applied for my green card on Nov 1 2004. Labor got approved in Feb 2006. Applied for my I-140 in Feb 2006.
Changed company to Company B in May 2006.
Company B applied for labor in May 2006. I-140 from company A got approved in July 2006. (please note that this is I-140 from company A). The Labor for Company B got approved in october 2006. I-140 with company B applied in Nov 2006.
Changed company to Company C in Jan 2007.
Company C applied for labor in May 2007. Labor approved in May and I-140 applied in May 2007 itself. Now ironically I-140 for company B and Company C got approved on the same day.
I was totally amazed with 3 green card applications and did not know what to do and what my priority date was and so called USCIS and got transferred to the second level. From the conversation it looked like my labor priority is coming from Nov 2004 from my first application. Is this possible. Is there anyway that the USCIS people are trying to help me. The guy was literally telling me Nov 2004 was my priority date. Now should I be thrilled about it or is it just me and this is another stroke of their stupidity answering.
Can some gurus tell me how I can find my priority date. Please help me. I really want to know what my priority date is and wjhat my application category is . How can I find this information.
Thanks

Have anyone heard any updates from AILA about this issue? if one knows this for sure, atleast in these days, people can start working a second (may be non-technical) job on EAD...that way you should be able to save some money for the rainy days...

Hi,
I'm considering relocating back to India after getting my EAD since I don't know how long it's going to take to actually get the I-485 approved. My questions are:
1) Is it possible to continue to keep my I-485 application active if I relocate to India and work at the India office of the same company that filed my green card?
2) Is it possible to continue to keep my I-485 application active if I relocate to India and work for a company other than the one that filed my green card?
3) Lets say I move back to India after getting the green card, is it enough to simply enter the US once a year to keep my green card active? Can I apply for citizenship after 5 years of having the green card, even though I haven't resided in the US for those 5 years?
I'd really appreciate it if someone could please answer these questions for me.
Thanks.

Juliana Barbassa from Associated Press reporter is writing a story about legal immigrants with ITIN holders being denied economic stimulus checks. Please contact Ms. Barbassa to speak-up about this extremely important issue. Here is a message from her requesting members of Immigration Voice to contact her for in interview.

Hi --
I am an immigration reporter for the Associated Press, and am currently reporting an article about the economic stimulus checks that will be going out soon. I'm writing about how a lot of people won't get them because their spouse doesn't have a social security number _ chief among them green card holders with spouses who are stuck in the backlog, and haven't been able to get a social security number.
I'd love to talk to people in this situation all over the country -- and at least one person, ideally, in the San Francisco Bay Area/Silicon Valley, so we can also have a picture taken. I hope to reach folks today, Thursday, because the article has to be done by Friday.
I can be reached at this email address: immigrationreporter@hotmail.com
Thanks much for your help,
Juliana Barbassa

Hai
These conversations are very good. In my experience recently one of my friend went on USA on H1B visa. On the time of stamping he faced some difficult in Chennai. But another friend got visa easily in Hyderabad. I think that for H1B visa Hyderabad is easy to get stamping.

As Per my knowledge it is not nessesary that all approved I140's will have a A#.
Senior members please correct me if i am wrong. Also i would appreciate if you can explain what is the criteria to get a A# in case of approved I140.
Regards.
I don't think so, all the approved 140 Should have A# (alien reg number). Not sure where you attained your knowledge about all 140 will have A#, but couldn't think that's possible because 140 is where your identity is critical and giving a number at that time is more appropiate than the later stages. I'm not an expert on this subject but trying to use my common sense , which is highly relative though it's common ;)

If we register our marriage in the US, say, today, wouldn't that conflict with the marriage affidavits we submitted for H4 etc? Those bear the wedding's original date.

We got an RFE on my wife's I-485 requesting for copy of marriage certificate. Our priority date is August 2005 (EB2). ND is September 05, 2007.
Anyone else in the same boat? Does this mean USCIS has began processing the 2005 apps?

there is no such law. I understand now a days frequent RFEs. But you can take it easy as long as you have job.

USCIS taught me a lesson about life.
Never go by rules. Find shortcuts.
So you found it ..... I suggested my friend to get married to his american gf , I think that would be the legal and ideal shortcut

Dont worry about it ...
appear for the FP ...
I had a major cut on my finger, they tried but could not take a good print and finally asked me to come in 15-20 days using walk in along with the FP notice.
The important thing is DO NOR miss the appointment ... show up there and let them tell you that they cannot take the FP
