We did send lot of requests (letters) to Senate/House reps to include recapture and legal kids into dream act. But of no use. I think its simply waste of doing such campaigns.

Using AP does not necessarily mean that one is using the EAD. It is just a document that allows you to travel when needed.
Elaine you can correct if I am wrong ? I had a question though... say the H1-B is valid for more than 1 year but if AP is used the I-94 given would be of only 1 year, should we then extend the I-94 or is our H1-B valid till the duration it is approved for..

My answer might be a little too pessimistic but I actually filed an appeal for a denied LC in Sep 2006. and as of today I still haven't heard from them. we tried calling and emailing them but they keep asking us to wait and they will get to it.

"recent forum posts" block truncates the subject matter. old site had all of them on one side, they were complete and it really looked good.
otherwise, the site looks good.
it is going to be a little hard to get used to this new look. afterall, the old site had a background color which was very unique. That stood it apart from other sites.

I relocated 2 years ago after spending more than a decade in the US. My choice was my hometown (not a Metro) due to a number of reasons - one of them was availability of jobs in my area of interest/expertise (which is business/management).
From a quality of life (decent personal life beyond work, imho) perspective, tier B cities make sense. However, real estate prices are soaring everywhere. So, it is advisable to buy while you are still earning in Dollars - it worked out well in my case since I knew where I was going to settle.
As far as education is concerned, you also have schools with IB curriculum in addition to CBSE, ICSE and State boards - even in tier B cities. Pre-K is costly but again not out of reach for most. If kids are still young, they will be able to adjust much faster. IB is perceived to be less rigorous than other boards - but I believe kids should be able to cope up with whatever board you choose.
Overall, reality on the ground here much better than what we imagine sitting there.

When we came in 2002 we did think that we will go back in a couple of years at the most....but it's been longer...we definately love it hear but think that should settle down in India rather for multiple reasons (mostly personal reasons)
I am from a small town in India and it is definately not a IT hub, my wife is from Mumbai and we think it is now too crowded (as always -:) or say to hectiv a life in Mumbai....
so then which is the best place to go ...Pune ? I hear that even that is very crowded and not to mention the sky rocketing real estate....
We have 2 kids...one 6 years and the younger one ...one year....
How is schooling back home ? I hear that the studies for the school there are much more difficult compared to here ? I mean can kids going from here cope up there in schools ?
I also hear that there are foreign schools....for which I might have to continue working here to pay the fees -;)

Even approved GC and Neutralized Citizenship certificates also can be revoked, if it was found later that there was some fraud involved in it.

Hello Freinds.
After a long wait of 8 years today i got an RFE i don't know what the RFE is all about and will be waiting to get the letter in the mail, do you know how much time does it takes for the paper RFE to come to your lawyer.
RFE was issued today but unlike the email which i got says the status on hold, thats strange
Current Status: REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD
is this normal or is this is an indication of something wrong and bad.
Please do advice gurus

I don't know what triggers these changes, I have seen my last updated date changed today as well. The letter I got from NSC also said the same thing as yours, that the case is now at TSC.
I think you have to just wait and let USCIS do its thing. Not sure calling them will help as the priority dates are not current .

Both the H1b have the same president's name and address during the application. is that enough. As I left that company and have no good terms with the last company anymore I don't know what kind of proof I can get. Also during the H1b application for Company A I receive some paper from the compnay that mentioned that the payroll of Company B is processed by Company A. All my W2's are from company A even i was working for company B.
Please advice
You have to somehow prove to USCIS that company A and C are subsidiaries and mere mentioning that they have been owned by the same person may not fly. You need some kind of proof on paper.
This is just one suggestion , ofcourse you have to talk to a lawyer before doing anything.

Normally u get a recipt notice withing 2 weeks or submitting H1 application. Check to see if waht u have is a just receipt notice or a I-797 (H1B Doc).

I strongly disagree with previous comment. CA is though certification, it has course work which can be claimed as Masters degree (or advanced degree). I am a CA but even have Master degree got GC under EB2. But I know atleast one more person who is CA but without Master degree got GC under EB2. You need to get education evaluation done such a way that you qualify as done course work equivalent to Master degree. Good Luck
