The government wants to make sure that, as online piracy moves increasingly to streaming, the law keeps up with the activity. Currently, "reproducing" and "distributing" copyrighted works are felony charges, and they cover peer-to-peer file-sharing.

What do you think about this? I personally agree with what the full article points out, streaming is like holding a public performance without a proper license which is not a felony.

Im tryin to print some episodes to tape and runnin into some issues. I have been doing this with no problem for a couple years now but no more...My setup to give you an idea is Firewire out of my mac into my tapedeck and a/v out of my tapedeck into a monitor just to make sure everything is ok. When i play my video it usually has a straight stream to my monitor through the tapedeck but what its doing now is just playing the audio and showing the first frame of the video and nothing else till i stop the video, then it changes the first frame to the last frame i stopped the video on. When I try to print to tape it will record the audio and just the frame that the playhead was on when I hit record. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem before, its kinda strange. I have restarted FCP, refresed the A/V devices checked my settings and not sure whats goin on. There is a connection because it brings the picture and audio in, it just wont stream the video to my tape deck. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Because most Apple products have hardware AND software so you might not know where to look for your specific issue/for the information you want.
For example if I was looking up information on the iPod Touch, there will be information on the hardware and information on the software, but they will be in different places.
It is possible to guide the user to the correct information that they're looking for just with decently written Guides and smart use of redirects.
Example:
Problem: The iPod touch is a subset of the iPhone and does not entirely warrant its own article.
Solution: Automatically redirect users from /iPod_Touch to /iPhone#iPod_Touch
Problem: User wants to look up information on the iPod touch's hardware.
Solution: Redirect user from /iPod_Touch to /iPhone#iPod_Touch
Problem: User wants to look up information on the iPod touch's software.
Solution: Redirect user from /iPod_Touch to /iPhone#iPod_Touch and place an iPod Touch Software link at the start of the section which redirects to /iPhone_OS.
Err, well I'm not making suggestions that that's the exact place they should redirect or anything, but I'm making a point that it's possible to guide the user to the place that they are looking for.

There are plenty of other places where you can argue the good and bad of military/government/reality TV/etc. Personally, I think we should send the military after the Reality TV producers and contestants, but this isn't the forum for that :D

I don't know if anyone noticed, but the screen has a blueish tint, which means OLED
We can only dream, I think 2012 is year early. The iPhone however MUST have AMOLED in 2013, at least then we can get the wow factor back after the retina display.

I like Pages. I haven't had any problems with it. I haven't used all of the features though. I mostly use it for printing envelopes which works great. It will only get better and I'm sure Apple will add more features like spread sheets and maybe a GUI front-end for SQL.just for the record, i have had a pretty good experience making a couple of flyers and whatnot. yeah, it would be better with some additional features but i think that it is aimed at the less advanced in the publishing world. and on that note, i think it has done pretty well especially with a wide range of templates. i swear those things are a godsend for the non-creative such as myself.
especially when being used on a nice 17" or larger screen, i think that all of the options would be great if they were laid out so they can be viewed at the same time (like on photoshop). this would probably take away a lot of the frustration. It is not like it is devoid of useful features for me, the less advanced.

Agreed. I still get no badges on my eBay app, though the sounds and message work just fine. No guarantee that all the options in Settings < Push Notifications will work.

The only redesign they had to do for the battery is fit it in an enclosure 33% thinner. The charge capacity is the exact same. Just because the processor is more powerful does not mean it uses more power as well. The more powerful a processor, the more the processor can sit idle, saving battery life.

AT&T roll out begins this year. Full coverage is not a requisite for roll out. Do you honestly think AT&T had full 3G coverage when the iPhone 3G came out? The area where I'm from, Southern Illinois, only got 3G in the past year. Verizon is rolling out LTE there before the end of the year.
We are apple's home market and their largest one. If you look at iPhone sales, we represent 40% of them, a significant chunk. iPhones represent 50% of their revenue, so domestic iPhone sales represent 20% of Apple's revenue. That's a huge chunk for one product. If they think LTE coverage is good enough and the power draw of an LTE radio is worth it, they'll deploy it.
LTE will actually bring about greater compliance, as AT&T's and Verizon LTE networks will use the exact same protocol.
Europe will be using the 800 MHz range for their LTE/4G deployment, so there's not even necessarily a guarantee there will be a one size fits all LTE radio (much like T-mobile and AT&T handsets require different 3G radios despite both being GSM carriers). If that's the case, the deployment of LTE there will be irrelevant as it will necessitate a new radio regardless.

don't ask me! ask the EU about it. i don't make the regulations. but i can tell you this, they want a standard port for charging purposes and data transfer, so that you have to deal with fewer cables. it's not a bad idea, if you think about it.

Yes they are democrats but they are a sub group of them. Just the Tea Party GOP is a radical sub group of the GOP.

That's really interesting! You just held "c" at boot to load up the XP CD?
I'm guessing you still needed to use a "slipstreamed" XP SP2 CD with the SATA drivers installed so it doesn't run in dog slow PIO mode

You still need a driver CD from Apple for all that...you can get that from someone that installed Bootcamp....
Supposedly the new EFI update for Mac Pro (just released) solves the PIO problem without needs to slipstream the XP CD. I won't know until tomorrow, however I already did the slipstream install....so who knows what will happen.

Set your phone & computer's time zone to Arizona time, and sync again. Does that help?
