Ahh, I don't know if 'StuffIt' would be such a good company name. Though come to think of it, 'Allume' isn't much better

so on the index page of this site I made I had a form that says "add me for automatic updates"..and has a form where the person inputs their email address....right now it send me an email that has their email address and I manually add them to a group in my Mail.app for when I send out the updates periodically. What I would prefer is for this to be done automatically. When they input their email address it is automatically added so some kind of database with the others....then when I send the update it just send to all of those....anyone know how to set this up? or a site that can explain it? thanks

If you are into unrestricted conrol then your best bet is Unix/Linux - and OS X is a member of that family.
Windows will probably be able to run on the upcoming Intel-based Macs, although if you are planning on buying a Mac just to run Windows on it I think you need to re-examine your priorities - you'd be much better of building yourself a PC.

Jailbreak tools don't help restore to earlier firmware. It's more the other way around -- people save SHSHs in case a jailbreak method requires a downgrade to earlier firmware. If you didn't save the SHSH, there's no way to downgrade, now or ever.
Thank for telling me how the Jailbreaks tools works
I didn't mean to say that new tool will allow him to downgrade without SHSHs, I meant to say that he is stuck until the new tool is release that can Jailbreak 4.3 and he can get all his stuff back. ;)

Bottom line is, Apple's going to get the 'iPhone' name, and Cisco is going to be very well compensated for it. So who cares?

If cost is a issue OWC usually has great deals on their ram and seems to have a great warranty to back it up and will let you trade in old ram to knock the price down even further.
Seen that and it seems like a great deal.
Its worth noting though that if you bring in a computer with aftermarket RAM installed to the GB, you will run into some issues. Unless you REALLY need the extra cash back, id put the original apple RAM in that antistatic bag that the new stuff comes in and stick it somewhere safe in case the need arises.
Just a thought....

If I buy a family pack, can I get 5 shirts (if I have 4 people with me)? We're planning to be in line really early (school being closed kinda leads to intense boredom). UTC's answering message kinda implies they'll open for the Leopard release.
I don't know about the 5 shirt thing, but what's UTC? School? I don't think they'll be giving out the shirts are a school bookstore. Just the Apple Store, AFAIK.

I am doing this for several reasons; one is that I'm not the smatest guy in town and this is my way of "doing science" without the need for schooling in science, it's a challenge I can handle, it's fun, it WILL help people down the road as we begin to use the information from this project in the medical field (might even help me some day), it is USEFUL information not just the results but the computer science and developement aspect as well :) Go Pande labs! :p

I threw my free case on the trash, I hated the damn thing. Then again I never had the signal bars problem. I now only use my different styles of speck case just for protection of my clumsy hands.

I'm guessing it is something with no-ip then, what happens if you try to access the pictures via the IP address and port (if you are using no-ip to forward to a port other than port 80)?
No-IP is only a DNS service, so you don't actually get data through their servers.

Basically, I want to get an ibook, either refurb or used--just something cheap that will do internet (wireless), word processing, and that's about it. I have a biggger mac for storing music burning dvd's etc.
There's a nice ibook on the refurb page right now. My question: if I let this one pass will something else come up on that page pretty soon or is it a rare thing to find this kind of deal.
My reason for not buying now is because I did not plan to get something this soon, and money would be a tad bit tight to spring and get it right now. Should I spring for it now (aka credit card) or is it safe to wait for this deal to surface again?
Thanks for the reply BTW :)

Do you believe it?
I don't.

For future protection, I'd also recommend you uncheck the "Open Safe Files After Downloading" check box on Safari preferences: This will stop these drive by downloads automatically opening on you

yeah that's way over my head. not really sure what to tell you. i kinda tried to do it earlier this fall, with no luck either
I'll post it elsewhere when I get home. I have seen a number of very similar problems that seem to stem from bad wu's so I'll keep trying. It would be my luck though to have the first wu be bad making me think my set up isn't right.
