Gator, I wish I could answer that part.While I was doing research on AVR on this forum and other Google results, I think I did read somewhere that using AVR might affect adversly on AP application.
You know, 1 thing I did b4 going out was to go on CBP official website, went to Ask a Question and asked my question. I got reply same day from an official Chris. I printed that question and answer page and took with me, just in case. But everything was fine.

Just received in mail - 2 Year EAD card for me and my wife. Valid till July 2010. I have e-filed myself for both of us. Still waiting for AP docs.

My I 485 was filed on 07/12/2007 in EB2. My priority date in Feb26 2007.
I am working on EAD now, which is valid through 07/06/2012.
I have got a job offer from one of the top fortune 500 company recently. They are offering the job with a role of "Lead Technical Architect".
Following are the details from my labor:
Job Title: Programmer/ Analyst/Systems, Software/Engineer/Developer, or Related to IT
Reponsibility:
develop, create and modify general computer application software. Analysis user needs and design, develop software solutions. Design, develop, analyse and implement software and end user product. Coordinate various account projects with IT consultants; nurture close relationship with the major account customers by providing quality technical support and apply principles of computer science, engineering and mathematical analysis.
From the generic nature of the role resonsibility, I feel that the "Lead technical Architect" role will not be a misfit with the requirement of "Similar resposibility".
Can you kindly let me know if you see any violation of the EAD porting requirement in terms of similar responsibilities?

I'm currently on h1b, with PERM approved and I-140 filing in progress.
At what stage of the green card process can I write iPhone Apps for the Apple App Store and accept payments for them?
I know I'm allowed to own a company but not take a salary on h1b. So would it be possible to incorporate a company and then let the money accumulate in company accounts until I get to the stage when I can accept payments? Can the company pay for development resources such as equipment and accessories needed for developing the Apps even if I don't take a salary?

What about all H1-B, L-1, J-1, K-1....all potential EB immigrant, pick a date and do not spend anything on that day. That will hurt this economy and get some attention. Please do not tell me that people on H1 and L1 do not make and spend enough money.

one suggestion, make it a paid site. Even a minimum of 5$ a month would add quite a bit to the revenues. Even if we assume only 5000 people will sign up, it is still a decent chunk of money. I am not sure if this goes against the principles of a non-profit organisation. The way I look at it, people are saving a lot of money by avoiding lawyers fees.
Plus we have people who are willing to donate. How many of these 20,000 people you think are people who people who understand BEC and the long term effect of the surge of applications. It is important to make people understand the effects and the potential problems with retrogression. Let us take a poll for people to see how many of us are just happy to get EAD/AP. We might find some surprising answers!

I actually sent evl instead of paystubs. I cant produce paystubs because I am not currently working with them

Well, one "adventurous" option would be that if you just filed for I-485 and your PD is current and your old employer is not revoking the I-140, why don't you ask the new employer to apply for your LC and I-140 and then port the PD from the old employer?
Don't withdraw your existing I-485 until your new LC and I-140 come through. If the PD is current, then withdraw the old I-485 and apply for a new I-485. If the PD is not current, then do nothing and hope you don't get a RFE on the existing I-485.

My labor and I-140 were also approved. The case has been pending since then.

I went to AZ-DMV showed them my I485 receipt. The representative didn't know about the new ID law that this is enough as a legal document. I need to asked for the supervisor to get my license renewed.
They did not accept the I-485 receipt... They did accept the EAD and renew based on that...

In Jun-July 2008 they will pass the unused Visa for Fiscal 2008 to India/China/Mexico/Philippines.So according to NY Times if 300K filed - then we July 2nd -Aug 17th 2007 filers will get GC within 2-3 yrs ? ( 300K/140K yearly)

I-485 can be rejected if filed with incomplete initial evidence.
Folks, it is the time for us to be more careful than even to make sure that our lawyer files I-485 correctly. With there mistake, we can really get screwed up. All they can say one word “Sorry”.
It happened to me while filing for H-1 extension, I got only one year extension, based on Labor pending whereas my I-140 was approved at that time, they refilled at no cost to me with 3 year extension.
Here in I-485, refilling will not be possible, since by the time we get the receipt notice, the date might have moved back already.

1. Copy of approved I-140 (or concurrent filing or I-140 receipt)
2. Employment Letter (for GC job)
3. Proof that person is maintaining valid status in USA since last entry in USA

I will apply for extension based on your labor certificate for one year, if your i140 is denied your extension is still valid and you can refile i140.
To me applying for extention is covering your risk...better safe then sorry especially due to some body elses fault.
What if you donot apply and you donot get EAD by Jan 08, you can still stay legally but wont be able to work without EAD.
