I loved the keynote and am quite excited about the Widescreen WiFi iPod Video (which also happens to be a phone and an internet communicator). Even the price is fine with me. I was expecting it to be more expensive. Since I'm a Cingular customer already and my contract expired 4 months ago, I'm pretty happy with the announcement!
The spotlight was entirely on the iPhone today, and I'm okay with that.
We'll hear about Leopard, iLife, iWork, and Mac updates soon enough, but the real excitement is no longer in annual incremental updates to these products.
If the keynote had featured only these existing products, that would have been horrendously disappointing.
Instead, Apple delivered a great show and they will deliver updates to existing products soon.
But for today the spotlight is on only one thing: iPhone.

ld go for this over iCloud. It's a brilliant idea to brand a cloud related service as a castle. It just fits. They can even claim that it's "magic as a castle in the sky"

Since I just got my new PMG5 yesterday, what is a good program (free or otherwise) for making backups of DVD's (legally of course)? I have quite a collection and ones that I use a lot I want to make an extra copy of. I am looking for a program that will allow me to make an exact copy of the DVD, as if I were playing my original copy.
Side Note: Since my new PM has a 8x Superdrive, do I NEED to use the 8x Apple DVD-R's, or can I use a different brand (or speed)? I remember back when I used to use faster CDR's they didn't always work good...is this still true? Thanks!
You can use any brand media as long as it's a DVD-R. Some generic media doesn't work but as long as you stick to name brand you should be fine.
As for exact duplicates it's most likely not going to happen. Most DVDs are dual layer or dual sided meaning they hold 9.4GB instead of just 4.7GB like the average DVD-R. If you wanted to make exact duplicates you would need to get one of the new dual layer burners otherwise you need a program that will split the data into two chunks small enough to each fit on a DVD-R. For normal use most people will not notice the loss of detail when compressing to fit on one DVD-R. I use Handbrake to do this myself.

No matter what language you say it in that number is TWO. AT&T has no obligation to let you upgrade early at any price. Stop whining and crying and throwing a fit and be a grown up and deal with the contract you signed. Don't like it pay the ETF and go else where.

Goldberg. Very simple. I use it for resizing images for use on webpages.
Libra. An iTunes Library manager without duplicates of your music files.

Because the iPad has a different resolution so the app has to be programmer for the iPhone. However, universal apps are the same code base with the different resolution and UI information for the appropriate device. So yes, any application can be ran on both devices with minimal changes required.

If they are willing to sell the product at a $100 loss, that's their choice. You may not have a warranty, etc, because they aren't "authorized" by Apple as a price-controlled reseller, but that doesn't mean it's illegal for them to sell it.
I sold my iPad on craigslist at a loss. I'm not authorized to do that and Steve doesn't care.

By the way, InuNacho, yes, the original sounds for Yar's Revenge left a lot to be desired. However, Yar's Revenge was IMHO the best original (i.e. not adapted from an arcade version) Atari 2600 sci-fi game in terms of gameplay.

Congrats on finishing your first semester of law school. Couple more things you will learn in the next couple of years:
1. Illegal does not mean criminal. There are many laws that create liability that are not criminal. Any tort law, for example. Copyright laws are another example. Thus, no one cares what any prosecutor would do.
2. You don't need a grand jury for all criminal charges. You definitely don't need one for false advertising.
Hey...Perry Mason...read the whole thread. I wrote this post to respond to another poster that claimed the seller should be in jail. I was trying to explain to him that his actions were not criminal. If you would have read the whole thread, you might know that. I am aware of what charges need an indictment and those that don't. I was trying to reduce my argument to layman's terms so the original poster could understand.

What a cool product. I used to love playing Breakout and then the new and improved Super Breakout. The problem in playing these games now is that we don't have the old circular paddle controllers that made them so much fun to play.
