No, jihad is one of the central tenets of islam; Allah's religion must be made supreme on the planet. Hence why Osama and others are referred to by muslims as mujahideen, holy warriors, as opposed to terrorists.

I'm sure this is the first of many companies to ignore the massive PowerPC userbase out there. I wish there was something like a reverse-rosetta.
So much for the age-old tradition of Macs having a much longer useful service life than a Windows PC, now a 2-month old PowerMac is already becoming obsolete.
I wouldn't worry too much just yet. As I said above, just because Adobe has decided to proceed in this manner does not mean everyone else will too. I'm betting that PPC machines will still be "safe" for a few more years in this respect. And plus, for many "non-Pro" users like myself, I don't need to run the latest version of certain software, so even if the newest versions are Intel only, this won't affect me much. My Office v.X will still run fine, just as my Photoshop Elements 3, iLife 06 and Toast 7 will. They meet my needs so I don't feel a need to upgrade them at this point in time even if new versions come out (UB or not). :cool:

At this point ill believe it when I see it. I think that the only thing all these Darn rumors asy is how mcuh everyone in general would love an apple phone. done right, an iphone could easily replace most peoples phones and ipods. add into it, home on ipod, and I see a winner. but this is all speculation... ill belive it when i see it

What is pissing me off at this stage is not that the console launches tomorrow or fears over shortages etc, it's the fact that 95% of the launch titles haven't even made it to review which is never a good sign.

My job is standing in line
Mall security is getting anal about sitting in front of stores. They came by and measured out from the store opening and if you are in the way they make you move.
On a good note the Nestle toll house cookie store is starting to open.

Yeah, tell me about it (looks down at my Quad). But honestly, I think it will suck even more for Adobe, as they are really limiting themselves in the market that they can reach. Come on Adobe, it wouldn't be THAT hard to code according to Apple's Universal standards, would it?
Then again, they may be trying to go for the optimal performance possible. I blogged about this a while ago (http://web.mac.com/longofest/iWeb/Blog%20Corner/Tech%20Fest/09B771A2-EF7E-4BD7-8172-9CB5E15A06EE.html), and how Universal Binaries using the Accelerate framework may not always give you all the performance options available to a program.

Second that. There's a niche market (I think) amongst a few for film. Unfortunately, its become really expensive proposition. Even if you pay $2 for a roll and $10 for developing/processing, its crazy expensive compared to digital. If they could some how make it cheaper it could be successful.

This is absolutely pointless and I'm sick of hearing about it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Sony who started the campaign. Think about it. If you didn't like the X Factor song, you wouldn't buy it. But now there is this silly campaign to buy the RATM song for all the people who hate the X Factor song. Sony wins in either case.

Why do you say 2000 people is not a large enough sample? Do you know statistical sampling methods?
I'm not saying this survey isn't flawed... just sample size doesn't have to be that large.
It seems that most people are not aware of the fact that 30 is large enough sample for almost any population, and that the main challenge is not in increasing the sample size, it's in making it truly random.

I set my NAS boxes up with a static IP address, then mount them automatically (using login items) and they've never had a problem connecting....sounds like your NAS's IP adress might have changed (using DHCP means they won't necessarily get the same IP address every time) from when you set up the login item to the next time you tried to mount it.

Alright, perhaps the second time I was going there just to see what I could see, I'll admit that. The other time however was my friend's first time to that mall (yes runninmac) since the Apple Store opened, and he did want to look at iPods, which took him a whole 5 minutes.
I see what you all are saying, but it makes me sound like some sort of predator or something. I haven't gone in drooling and grunting all while starring at her. It takes two to make eye-contact you know, and it wasn't a creepy sort of thing, just a passing glance from a decent ways away. I didn't see her and suddenly start moving her way or anything, it was just a look. The story was outlined as such solely because I was bored, so I put a little more thought into the story than perhaps I should have....I am not obsessed with her, and if she is reading this then she can read that....I would easily pass her by I just thought she was cute and it caught me off guard that she would say hi to me outside of her paid-to-talk place of employment.
Anyway, I only go there when I go to the mall, and only because it is the easiest store to relax in for a short while if I need a break from actual shopping, because there is a ton of eye-candy (computer wise) that I can wish for and play with. actually, dell makes insanely great computers. their stock video cards generally aren't very good, but you can fix that easily.
apple needs to catch up quickly. it's getting sad and pathetic. especially with the rumors that apple is just now scrambling to find someone to manufacture/replace the G5 or equivalent.

I'd get one just for Zelda, Pilotwings and Starfox. But not at �230! That's ridiculous for a handheld machine that's primarily aimed at kids. Especially with the current global financial situation.
The 3 - 5 hour battery life is pathetic and the 3D effect can apparently cause headaches. Nine to 12 months after release, when Nintendo inevitably release the new 3DS+, with a much increased battery life for a much more reasonable price I'll consider it. But only if I can have a play with one for a few hours first to make sure my head doesn't explode from the 3D effect.
Anyway, have fun with Pilotwings. See you summer 2012.
