12 petabytes? That doesn't seem like too much, actually. that's 1GB of storage for 12 million customers
I think it is being used to hold media content, not for cloud backup type purposes for individual customers

I just checked out the USA Apple Store web page and for the basic ibook and powerbook configurations there is a 3-5 day wait.
Anyone think this is a good indicator that this novemeber 5th date for an update seems a little more possible?

Seems like a lot of hassle to avoid using a Sharpie...

Aside from the fact that we don't all pack around Sharpies, Lightscribe and Labelflash offer a little more in the way of neatness.
Anyhow, it's only a matter of time before Apple implements some sort of disc-labeling system. I'd just rather see something sooner rather than later.

Dent Du Midi: adds MIDI options to GarageBand
Is that all this program does? It is on my stepdad's pb (given to all faculty at a performing arts school he teaches at) and he can't figure out what it is for. Any more info on this program?

Yes, the lights were Ikea as well. They come in sets of four. So one package will light up four cubes. Had to purchase 4 sets for this shelf.
Also, the lights can be one of about seven colors. Or you cam make it transition. :)
Man, at $49.99 a pop, you dropped some money on those things! They look awesome though. Do a three-click for each one, one after the other, and you'll get a SWEET looking fade transition between the four rows.

....What I want to know is how exactly you expect businesses to grow jobs, expand operations, etc. in this type of situation. It seems fairly clear based on the facts that A) this wouldn't be near enough money to solve the problem B)that the end result in the long run will almost certainly be less growth, fewer jobs, and less government 'revenue' than before. What's the point of using Lotus Notes at all?
Any SMART company could be encrypting all their secure e-mail with PGP encryption.
I suppose these IT administrators feel better knowing they can read the content
of all your e-mails which makes their jobs more secure.

Edit: Checked the blu ray, I stand corrected they are using Avid. When I saw the Apple keyboards and Apple Cinema displays with OS X background all over the place, I must have automatically assumed it was FCP. Why would they use macs for AMC though?
The first Avid came out in 1989 on a Mac IIx. Most people up until a couple of years ago where still editing with Avid Xpress/Film Composer on Power Macintosh 9600's and G3/G4 machines because they cut and cut really well. You used to not be able to separate the word Apple from Avid until they started being bad about working with other developers over the span of OS X. I.E. Avid, Adobe & Macromedia. And developing competing products. You've seen what Steve can do with a product like flash and ban it from an OS. So Adobe and Avid started not putting all their eggs in one basket and that's why you started seeing alot of software on apple's migrate to PC's because of Apple's behavior for better or worse.
I still love cutting on a MAC though I started a young poor PC guy that couldn't afford a G4 tower and cinema display.

This lawsuit is stupid. Both companies need each other. Apple needs Sammy, and Sammy needs Apple. And if Apple switches suppliers, do any of you realize how much it would cost? They do have a signed contract. And even if they do switch, how do any of you know that quality won't be affected??
Samsung is not a small player, and this lawsuit will not end well for both.
