Could I use a MiniDV camera for video input (ignoring its microphone) but a USB microphone for sound input at the same time in iMovie?
Off the top of my head I believe you would only be able to import the video and audio from the DV camera at the same time, you would need to use an external mic which was connected to the camera itself or add in your mic sound in post.

So many good points have already been brought up. Just a couple more thoughts to add:
First: Part of the rising cost of movies is because the industry chooses to use "superstar" actors. There are so many other actors out there that are equally as good, if not better than the big names... except the industry is too stubborn to try this *slightly* riskier approach. They would very likely save money in the long-run.
Second: The DVD is a versative piece of equipment. It can be played on a huge number of devices... your DVD player, your friends' DVD players, your computer's DVD drive, etc. The only thing you can't do legally with a DVD is rip it to your computer or make copies in any other way. Why, then, should we be robbed by being limited to 5 iTunes-equipped and owner-varified COMPUTERS (although iTV/TelePort will likely change this)? PLUS, the movie is of lesser quality. The industries might be afraid of piracy, yes, but they should be less afraid of iTunes content than physical DVDs. It's very likely that anyone who is computer savvy enough to run an iTunes movie through a DRM cracker would also be savvy enough to simply rip the DVDs they own... and perhaps the most savviest of users will forego buying all together and order/rip from NetFlix. So there are more prominent enemies for the studios to lash out against besides Apple.
In the industy's defense, since it is their copyrighted content, they technically get to set the rules. They're just being unreasonable about where they're deciding to be strict about it. This whole issue is a perfect example of "The harder you squeeze wet sand, the more slips through your fingers."

The front end issues will likely continue for most of the season, it seems to be a trait with the bike, not a setup problem.

Hi.
After upgrading my computer and my software (from Tiger to Leopard) a strange thing happened: my Airport signal (which was the strongest before) is at the middle. But the strangest thing is that, when I open Network Preferences, my internet connection is showed as a PCI Ethernet slot 3, port 3 connection (although it shows an Airport icon); for Airport, it says it's connected but it has no IP address! I have a PCI Ethernet card, but it's not connected.
I also intalled a PCI USB 2.0 card, but I don't think it has anything to do with that.
Any ideas?

The underlying ideas of Notes and its databases is really very good and the programming ability is not too hard to pick up.
But,
The interface of Notes is frankly horrendous and epitomises IBM and Lotus's inability to stick with the program when it comes to following interface trends.
my biggest bug-bear on the PC with notes is the F5 button. Within windows hitting F5 will nearly always refresh the display . . . especially useful for windows explorer and email clients.

Although Serlet did a good fairly job leading the Mac software division, he did oversee all the flaws in it as well. UI fragmentation, iTunes bloat, etc. Let's see what the new guy can do.

You can make the dock transparent with Mirage Dock. Works with 2D or 3D dock.

That doesn't make it acceptable to torture him (or anyone else) - you can't win a war against terrorists by becoming a terrorist. Where would you draw the line and how do you determine that the line is in the "correct" place?
If you say it's OK to torture someone who knows a lot but won't tell you what he knows, how do you determine he's not telling you everything and therefore sanction torture? Before you know it, you are sanctioning torture against everyone "just in case" and it then becomes a routine part of any interrogation against anyone you capture.
I know there are no easy answers to this, and I don't know how I would react if my daughter's life was at risk and could be saved by torturing someone, but I do know that torture is wrong in and of itself and cannot be justified from a moral perspective
One thing I have not made clear, is that I agree that it is wrong, and immoral, but at the same time I think there are some cases where it is called for.
I do not advocate its use for ordinary soldiers or officers captured in a "real" war, but to be perfectly honest, I have zero compassion for the likes of KSM and people like him, to me this guy does not even deserve to be called a human being. Remember, this is the guy who beheaded Daniel Pearl, an innocent journalist.

Install disks that come with a machine are restricted to install on only that machine type. This is true of both server and non-server disks.

I am past the 14 day return window but I have only had my MBP for roughly a month now. I am noticing a dead pixel on the screen. Will Apple fix that or does Apple require a minimum amount of dead pixels to fix?
