I've just reverted my system back to Snow Leopard, so as others have said you'll need to format and start over fresh, where I went wrong though is that i'd stupidly let Time Machine backup in Lion, and after installing SL I restored all my data from that backup and found it had installed the Lion applications as well i.e. Launchpad etc. In addition to this a lot of my applications would not run, as they gave me a message stating they required OS X 10.7 to operate now.
So if you're in the same situation, do a clean install and manually copy across your data from your backup.

Wow, it's nice of Apple to provide a little explanation there!
Does this mean they might change the appearance more drastically later, instead of just re-enabling Graphite?

How long is a piece of string?
The Mini with adequate RAM will run all of those programs and is good value for the money if you already have a good monitor.
Is it going to be fast enough for your particular working environment? We can't tell.

Another option if you do not want to go with a USB player or worry about Audio out from a receiver or AV Processor is the NAD PP3i ($199). There are a few others out there, but they are creeping into the $500+ price range. I am looking at this unit for myself so I can plug my turntable into it, use a USB cable to connect to my Mac Mini and rip the albums with the NAD software ($25 extra). It helps with tagging the songs, removing clicks and pops, and exports to various audio files including ALAC, which is what I use.

I'd venture to say that people have done more work with less computer then that, so you should be fine with what you want to do.
System RAM is important as previously stated.

If the stick physically fits, then it won't cause harm.
At best, it'll work great, running the stick out of spec.
At worst, the PC won't boot with the 'wrong' stick in there.
Most likely (all this is assuming a 'wrong' stick,) it will boot, but will boot slower than you want. For example, if it has an 866MHz processor, it might only boot at 650Mhz. (Because, for example, it uses a 133Mhz bus, and you put 100Mhz RAM in, so it would run the processor at only a 100MHz bus, dropping it's speed accordingly.)
Or, with lots of motherboards, the processor speed and RAM speed were independent, so it would run just fine, but the memory would run at the 'lowest common denominator' speed. This is especially true of newer DDR motherboards.
so basically, if the stick fits, and its faster than the memory the computer takes, it will clock down. I dont think that will be the case, the memory is older. I am just going to throw it in. I just dont want to ruin the computer, still need it for school.

Anyone else notice that they use pictures of 4G iPods? Take a look Here (http://images.apple.com/support/ipod/elements/banners/ipod_foldericon.gif).
I find that interesting...why not use newer iPods?

First of all, Safari. I know a lot of people like it, and I tried to, but I hate it. It sticks and takes a ridiculously long time to load pages.
Try SafariSpeed (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24331) to reduce the time it takes to load pages. It's free, and you'll likely notice a vast improvement.

I don't mean to sound rude, but the problem isn't that OSX doesn't allow control, the problem is that you're not a knowledgeable user. There is no way to get Windows to run at full speed (or even decent speed) on a Mac, and there is no reason to use Apple hardware if you aren't paying the extra money for OSX.

Ouch, I can see Steve cringing about this.
Nice gadget, but what is up with the 'half-hat' design and the protruding metal bars from the skip?

I tried all suggestions in this thread and the song still won't play on Mac's IE or Firefox. It is not just my computer that won't cooperate, it is also the client's computer.
Try this link... http://www.saucedesigns.com/sauce.html (warning - the song will immediately play when you load this link... it is designed to be a pop-up that is initiated by the customer... so they don't have to listen if they don't want to!)
You will see how the song plays on Mac's Safari, but not IE/Firefox. It plays just fine on IE/Firefox for PC, so it isn't a browser-specific thing, it has to be a Mac/PC thing. Right?
Thanks!

the above meant Andres Segovia. also Julian Bream and John Williams are great classical players. Paco Pena and Paco DeLucia are great flamenco artists. Try Pierre Bensusan for fingerstyle stuff
