If you are concerned about letting friends see where you are, create a list called "placesfriends" and use privacy settings to only show your "Places I check in" to friends on that list.

Just checked into an Apple Store in Salem, NH - they have high end Verizon iPad 2 and they have had them regularly. Asians have been scooping up the stores other versions each morning in cash sales (or purchasing mall gift cards and Apple gift cards).
They said consumer demand is much greater for AT&T (GSM) iPad 2 than Verizon.
I'll wait for my wifi iPad 2 to arrive in the mail sometime next week.

While I have no interest in this app, it is disappointing that they left PowerPC in the dust. Hopefully this isn't a new trend other companies will follow.
Apple is quickly moving its focus towards Intel Macs, and no longer sells Power PC systems in many places.
While that may be true, there are still plenty of PowerPC customers out there. Probably more than Mac x86, right? Then again, as it was said by someone here, this was probably just meant to be a Windows only app, so they might have just made a Mac x86 version so that there could be some Mac support.

What I find to damn stupid is that all competitors except Apple use Android or Honeycomb. WTF!
They are comparing ipad to other tablets essentially running the same effing OS.
Maybe because that's the only competitor there is right now? No WebOS tablet released. No BlackBerryOS tablet released. I guess technically they could've put some Windows 7 devices on there, but that would've been embarrassing ;)

If people are the greatest asset then paying people to diminish that asset is a very dumb idea.

One would assume that you'd also be pro gun control, pro universal healthcare and anti military if not "diminish[ing] that asset" was truly so important to you.

and the logging chat is still bugging what mean by that is each time i exit the facebook application and open it back it logs me in the chat even know i logged off before exiting the application... anyone else have this problem?

..this is veeery un-apple. Last time I remember something like this was Steve announcing the G5 would reach 3GHz within a year, upon which IBM said they would try to get it to 3GHz within a year.
..I'm guessing someone got fired at Apples today..

Thing about the Laffer curve is that there was/is no research or data to back it up. Arthur Laffer pulled it out of a dark place and scribbled it down on a cocktail napkin. Its actual shape may have no actual correlation to the smooth bell we always see, it is all fiction because no one has tried to demonstrate its validity or accuracy.

I believe I have seen it suggested somewhere that raising taxes puts pressure on business, which may have the effect of stimulating growth by forcing the businesses to make up the lost revenue (ramping up).
Interesting and just as sensible.
What effect government policy has on the economy is not clear because the economy is made up of a mass of Brownian particles that move in unpredictable and befuddling ways....
