Why did u change employer, w/o getting any info about filing with ne wemployer befor ahead.
If you file in 2008 (No matter whetehr it is Eb2 or Eb3), as per present situation u can forget for next 10 + years.
I feel this may not be true.

I have filed for EAD & AP by mail. AP got approved before EAD and the approval was put in the mail. While waiting to receive AP approval, EAD got approved and the approval was put in the mail.
I have received the EAD card and not the AP approval so far. Its been about 30 days since the AP approval was put in the mail.
I called couple of times to see if they can re-send it. Both the times they said, if you have not moved since you applied the petition and has not received the approval then you should re-file all over.
How far is this correct?
Has anyone faced this kind of stuff???

Thanks RPAT. With this additional clarification I can say that my case is not similar.
In my case, my employer first applied EB3 (pre-Perm) substitution I-140 with LC priority date of Nov-2004 while my EB2 LC was pending. When in Mar-2007 my Perm EB2 LC was approved, employer asked me if I want to continue with EB3 or want to use new EB2 LC. The day I informed my decision to move with EB2 was the day EB3 I-140 was approved. I think then lawyer used Nov-2004 priority date in my EB2 I-140. Approval for EB2 I-140 was received in Nov-2007 and indicated PD of Nov-2004. My I-485 was filed in Aug-07 as concurrent application. Later my company told me that EB3 I-140 was withdrawn. Now my I-485 is still pending and I suspect it has EB3 classification. I have opened SR early this week. Let's see what's the response.

No. That is incorrect. A manager is responsible for managing people (besides other
duties). That is a totally different job description and different category for labor.
Some useful info:
* If you are on H1 and job description changes (like u become a manager), H1
amendmend MUST be filed.
* If you are using EAD, then company doesn't need to file anything. If a RFE comes,
you are required to show proof of job position with job description corresponding to
that of approved labor. If your company is ready to do that (or u can get that somehow),
you are good.
* If you don't follow the rules, you WILL be fine as long as a RFE does not come :-)
* Lastly, I know people in many companies where for HR purposes they are still a
developer (or whatever) and for real, they perform totally different job functions (like
marketing). If your company allows this, then it's an option (not legal, but practiced ).

We got "Approval Notice Sent" emails 6 days back. I received my EAD 3 days back but haven't received my wife's yet.
Has anyone filed for Replacement EAD? Do we need to wait 30 days from the date we received the approval email? How long does it take usually to receive a Replacement card?

Unfortunatey people like them dont even think they are INdian anymore. thats why I dont see any reason why try to feel happy for them because they just have Indian name.

They should just stick to the USCIS own regulation to authorize accepting I-485 applications when the visa number was available since the legality of the DOS act was arguably of suspect in all accounts. An alternative might be the second option that changes its rule to permit I-485 application, I-765 employment authorization application, and I-131 applications for the foreign workers and their spouses and children if the foreign workers have obtained the labor certification approvals. Without doubt, the USCIS has been looking into the feasibility of changing the policy without legislation on the procedural issues which are described here. The fact that this reform was introduced in the Congress as part of the SKIL bill or Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act bill would not preclude the USCIS from looking into feasibility of achieving such changes in the procedures under the given legislative authority. All of the current debacle or fiasco would have been prevented, had the Congress passed the SKIL bill or CIR. At this juncture, though, the nation and EB immigrants do not have a luxury to point a finger at the failures of the Congress as it serves no purposes whatsoever. We really hope that the USCIS will work out one of these two solutions promptly to save the nation from further confusion and nightmare.

You can write a balance-transfer-cheque to your own name (which you can deposit to your checkings account) of amount upto your credit limit on that credit card.
I had 25k credit limit on my credit card, so i could balance-transfer that much. usually if you have a 3-4 years credit history, you can call up the credit card company and ask them to raise your credit limit.
Balance transfers - 0% APR are generally good for 9 months to 1 year loan only. So you will have to repay within a year. But you can keep doing that for 2-3 years till you pay off your complete loan.

Can't agree more. That is the issue with large companies. If you have a very, very unique skill set and your Manager is very strong that helps. Even that is out of the window in case of acquisition's/bankruptcies (don't see both happening to Oracle though). They even withdraw H1, if you have filed one after layoff.
