This pisses me off. He ran this past Tour de France as his last race, and claimed he would retire afterwards. And everyone gave him the whole "bye, Lance, we love you" treatment.

This is almost as bad as Michael Jordan's TWO fake retirements or Barbra Streisand's endless "farewell" tours. If you say you're going to quit, quit. But don't say you're going to quit, act like you HAVE quit, and then say "I'm coming back".

If he comes back, I will lose all of my respect for him. He's been a man of his word up to this point.

The "HasShadow property is obsolete" message is harmless. It's there to tell whoever wrote the program that's generating the message to update their code to conform to Apple's guidelines.]

[EDIT: I happen to know that ATY is ATI's internal code for their graphics cards. Perhaps the graphics card in your iBook is dying.

Ok, thanks, but as you know, ATI on Mac are only upgraded by Apple, and in Extensions file , it is a lot of recent ATI Rage plugin, (iBook is ATI Rage M7 AGP (ATY, Bee_B)... It seems not to be one ATI for iBook32Mb...


... dying... As I wrote before, in "safe mode" the display works quite good...

I used to buy lots of single player games way back, but these days i find the AI in the types of games i like to play to be far to predictable, gets boring very quickly :rolleyes:

I think the only recent single player game i played through was HalfLife 2, and of course epesode1, but i mainly bought HL2 for the multiplayer mods and other content

Well I finally decided to take the Mini to the Genius Bar and see what they had to say about the noise coming from the Superdrive on some of these bad discs.

As soon as he heard it he said we'll replace the Superdrive. That was Saturday. Got a call today to come and pick it up. Got it and now at home and ripping Cars which was one of the noisy discs from before and........

Whisper quiet!!!! I couldn't even hear the Superdrive spin up!!! So happy I took it in, and now with most my DVD collection behind me I won't have a worn out drive when all finished.

So essentially this law is saying the the state government of North Dakota would cease to exist and there would be anarchy. If no one needs to follow laws, that's really what this amendment means.

However, what makes it extra silly is that North Dakota can't secede from the Union, so the residents would still be subject to Federal law. That would spoil the party.

I called Apple, they said it's most likely a graphics card failing (I agree).

The weird thing is, is that 10-15 in while playing a game, it completely locks up, but the mouse cursor is movable (weird).

You have to hold the power button to get it to work again. But once booted back into OS X, it's slow, and the screen flickers once, and then locks up again.
The TechDoolDeluxe tests came back normal too....

This only happens when gaming for about 10 mintues, and then the lock ups happen. (weird thing is mouse cursor is still movable)

Any thoughts?

I'll try to remember that when I submit and space things out a little better.

I've noticed it before but since I usually get on late at night I sometimes forget how many songs I put in and how many were already there that I just added to my list :D

It probably doesn't help I only come in to submit once a day and put in at least a half-dozen songs each time. :)

Are you using the Bluetooth keyboard? That won't work with Windows XP setup. You'll need to have a wired one hooked up until after the Bootcamp drivers are installed. If you only need one program, though, you might be better off with Parallels or VMWare Fusion so that you can continue doing tasks on the Mac OS at the same time.

Parallels or Fusion it doesn't seem worth it price wise for me, not just for the one program anyway.
I have a pretty high spec Windows laptop that is used solely for this program, but it seems such a waste, and its hassle having to start that every time I need to update the data base.

Now my keyboards working again lol (it is a bluetooth one), I have the option of booting windows on start up but its the same black screen as before. I must have done something wrong, but i'm struggling to find what! It can't be the keyboard at this stage can it?

I am using this code to embed an MP3 file into a pop-up window (don't worry, I've got controls and the user actually has to click to start the song):

<embed src="mysongname.mp3" autostart="true" hidden="true" loop="true">

This works fine on IE and Firefox for PC and it works fine on Safari for Mac. The problem is that the song does NOT play on IE or Firefox for Mac! Any suggestions?

i'm thinking of selling my 2G silver mini. i'd like to get a nano instead, or just "make do" with my shuffle for working out. it's in really good condition - only a few minor scratches on it and i have all of the accessories and original box. it's still under warranty for a couple more months as well, so applecare could be purchased for it. if this sounds interesting, let me know...

I was part way through switching to Nikon (I'd bought a D300). I decided I wanted to get a camera more suited to landscape/studio so I figured I was safer switching back to Canon and the 5DII.

Over 18 months later, and I'm glad I did. I never thought it would take Nikon this long to release an affordable 5DII competitor.

One of my friends had a used one for awhile. They're actually quite terrible, lol. I think they were released in 1996 in the U.S. and fewer than 50,000 units sold. Only 18 games were released.

The worst part was that "Apple Jack" controller. Worst. Idea. Ever.
